The history of
Oud Bommenede

Our history

Landgoed Oud Bommenede is nestled in the polder of the same name, Oud-Bommenede, which owes its name to the historic village of Bommenede. This village was abandoned at the end of the 17th century and given back to the nature of the Grevelingen. Over the centuries, arable farming has always been the lifeblood of this area, making Oud Bommenede a place where history and agricultural tradition go hand in hand.

This rich past forms the basis of our estate, where the connection with the land is palpable in every crop we grow and every view across the vast fields.

Ten generations

Bommenede oogst-1735

Landgoed Oud Bommenede is not just any place with a rich history; for more than ten generations it has been
the ‘home’ of the Van Putte family. For us, this estate is more than just land and buildings - it is our native soil.

Here at Oud Bommenede, the ties to our ancestors and rural traditions are inseparable from the land we cherish and preserve.
